“Great motel with a great location”
Date
of review: May 24, 2011 - New
We
have been coming to this motel for the past seven years. We love the location,
only a short walk to boardwalk and beach. The continental breakfast is great, we
have small children so it is real nice to just open our door and have breakfast
on the patio. My kids love the heated pool after a day at the beach. The owner
and staff is very accommodating and available in case you need something. The
patio with tables and umbrellas come in handy if you want to have take out. I
enjoying reading my books on the lounge chairs on the patio. All in all, for all
the services and location of this motel, it is really a great value.
“Hats
off to a wonderful stay”
Date of review: May 19, 2011
This coming August will be the 12th or 13th year my son and I have stayed at
Amethysts now. My son is now 18 and still wants to go with his mom to the motel.
Sometimes my husband comes along. Other times I bring friends with children. No
matter who I bring they are impressed with the motel, staff, and ownership of
this family run motel. Love the proximity to the beach and boardwalk. Great
heated pool. Continental breakfast is wonderful way to start a relaxing day.
Amethyst staff is always making sure rooms are clean. Pool and pool area are
always spotless. Amethysts' owners are on site everyday making sure their guests
are well taken care of and have a great memory as to what returning guests
prefer. It is nice to be remembered that way.
“We experienced a very satisfying stay at the Amethyst Beach
Motel.”
Date of review: Apr 25, 2011
My
family and I had a wonderful time staying at the Amethyst Beach Motel. The
apartment was clean and large enough to accommodate our family. We especially
liked the fact that it was only a block from the boardwalk and the beach. The
children enjoyed the pool. The people who own and run the establishment were
very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. I would recommend this
place to anyone who would like to stay in Point Pleasant. Oh, I almost forgot to
mention how close this motel is to Six Flags. Our family loves to go there every
time we visit N.J.
“The BEST Beach motel”
Date of review: Apr 21, 2011
My
husband and i have been going to the Amethyst beach motel for over 15 years, we
go every year and sometimes twice in the same year. It's like "going Home' year
after year familiar faces who have become friends. We have the best time and
bring friends every year who also keep going back. The pool ROCKS!
We are looking forward to seeing them again!

“GREAT TIME IN JERSEY SHORE”
Date of review: Apr 6, 2011
I
have stayed several times in the past 2 years and in fact have a reservation for
this summer for at least one week. The rooms are always spotless and plenty of
towels. They have cable and wireless service for your laptops. It is one block
from the boardwalk which is a great convenience because parking spots at the
shore are not that easy to find. They have a parking lot for their guests also.
It is a family run business and you are treated like family there. The pool is
also a convenience too if you are like me and not to crazy about going in the
ocean. My teenage boys love it there also.
“Great
Location. Pleasant Staff. Fun Place to Stay.”
Date of review: Mar 27, 2011
We
have been coming to the Amethyst Beach Motel for the past 6 years. There is no
other place that we would stay. It is a great location. The staff is pleasant.
We come with friends and have a blast.
“Great Place to Stay!!!!”

more pleased with the motels helpful and pleasant staff, nice clean rooms,
awesome pool area, continental breakfasts, and unbeatable location.
We really enjoyed our stay their and will continue to visit the Amethyst's Beach
Motel each year.

“Our little piece of sanity”
Date of review: Jan 16, 2011
My
husband and I have three children, two full time jobs and absolutely no time to
ourselves. Amethyst Beach Motel is our little piece of heaven. We actually are
able to re-gain our sanity when we stay here. The staff is remarkable and
helpful with every little detail. We had everything we needed at our finger tips
here. My oldest daughter learned how to swim in the beautiful pool. My children
hate to leave. We all find it very relaxing-extremely family oriented and just
plain enjoyable. As a mom I strongly recommend this motel to any one with kids
who is looking for the most convenient and stress free place to stay.

“Three
Cheers for the Staff, especially
MIKE!!!”
Sep

Every
time we stay at this hotel, we
find something else that makes
us love it even more! This time
I want to compliment the
excellent staff. They are always
helpful, friendly and have
smiles on their face. They all
seem to take pride in their jobs
at the Amethyst.
Someone I want to specifically
mention is a staff member named
Mike. He is always available for
whatever assistance you may
need. In addition to the
Continental Breakfast, the Motel
is also offering a variety of
breakfast items that you can
order for a small additional
cost so Mike goes from Master
Handyman to Master Chef in the
blink of an eye. According to my
kids, he makes the BEST BACON
EVER!!! (We probably ordered a
pound of bacon for my kids
daily!). So, Thank You Mike and
the entire Staff at the Amethyst
for being so wonderful. You
always go over and above what is
necessary to make our trip truly
a "family" vacation!

“Good
Location”
Aug 16, 2010
The staff at this
motel are very friendly and
accomodating. This was our first
time staying at this motel. We
arrived very early on our check
in date and the girl said our
room was available and let us
check in. Not many motels do
this for you. So we had 2 full
day in our room. I would
definitely go back and stay here
again. They give you breakfast
and the pool was very clean. The
rooms were fine, not updated;
but clean and fine for a shore
motel. Very close to the
beach/boardwalk. |

“Great
location”
Aug
9, 2010
We just got back
from our short vacation on
Friday and I can not tell you
enough how nice this motel
turned out to be. Yes, you do
have to pay $10 for parking, but
if you find a spot on the street
you can avoid this fee. We chose
to pay to stay in the lot. We
were there four days and the
location is so great, that we
didn't have to move our car
once. We had a slight problem
when we first arrived, as I had
requested a room on the first
floor as my husband has a
medical issue which makes it
difficult for him to climb
stairs. We were told there was
no rooms available and that our
room would be on the second
floor. I was annoyed but willing
to take the room, when Ashley,
who is a relative of the owner,
came in and showed us a room on
the first floor, which was a
much larger room than requested,
it was actually an efficiencey,
gave us the room for the same
price. I can not thank her
enough. She went above and
beyond, as well as Valerie and
Michael the breakfast chef. They
made our stay really enjoyable.
The rooms and pool are kept very
clean. Shout outs go to the
cleaning crew who work
incredibly hard to keep the
place looking great. They also
have plenty of bbq grills and
tables and chairs around the
other side of the pool which
were not being utilized. Next
time I come with family, I would
definintly use these. Because it
was only the two of us, we ate
out every nite. Great clams,
oysters and lobster near by. We
ended out staying an extra nite
and we were given another room
at the same price, as the
efficiency we stayed in was
booked. I cannot thank all the
staff enough for making this
enjoyable time. The only
suggestions from me, turn the
grill area into a tiki bar, I
think that would go over great
and wouldn't interfere with the
pool area, and add home fries to
the breakfast menu......us New
Yorker's like our homefries. We
will be returning to this motel
again in the future and I will
be recommending this place to
friends as well. Any questions,
please contact me.

Great location
and very friendly staff.”
Aug 6, 2010
For the amount of
money I spent I was pleasantly
surprised to find that the staff
was very helpful, the room was
very clean and came with all the
basic neccessities, and the
location could not be better. A
seven minute walk is all that
separates your bed from the
beach. Much more than you expect
for the price! |

“Another
great time at the Amethyst”
Jul 21, 2010
My wife and her
sister have been staying at this
motel for about 7 years, and we
all keep coming back to this
quaint family run and family
friendly place. It is located a
block from the beach, it is
maybe a 5 minute stroll if you
take your time. Make sure you
get your beach pass at the front
desk before heading to the beach
to save a few dollars. Parking
is tight in the area around the
motel, but they always seem to
have a spot for their guests.
Theresa and her staff are a
fountain of knowledge for where
to go and what to eat; we tried
a new place based on their
recomendation and were VERY
happy. The staff remembers you
from year to year which makes
you feel that you are at some
place nicer then a plain chain
hotel/motel somewhere else.
Every year they seem to add a
few more changes and updates to
the motel; like more food during
the day, expanded breakfast
offerings. Overall the owners
and the staff really care about
their guests and go that extra
little bit more to make your
stay pleasant.

“awesome”

had
a great time, rooms were clean,
great location. All the staff
were friendly. We stayed at this

great idea,Mike you are a
awesome cook!!!! looking forward
to coming back next

“LOCATION,
LOCATION, LOCATION”
Jun 30, 2010
We always look
forward to our yearly trip to
Pt. Pleasant, and staying at the
Amethyst Motel. The rooms are
always very neat and clean. The
owner Theresa and her staff are
all very pleasant and helpful
when it comes to making
accomadations for us.
We have been going there for
approx. 5 years, and feel the
location to the beach,
boardwalk, and local stores, and
our favorite restraunts are all
within walking distance, and
hardly ever a reason to use your
car once you are there. We would
highly recommend this motel to
our friends, or anyone just
staying in Pt. Pleasant. We were
recommended by a friend as well.

“Great
Beach Motel”
Jun 30, 2010
I have been
staying at this motel for 18
years. The staff is always very
friendly and courteous. They
have always made us feel welcome
and at home. They added a patio
with tables and barbecues. It's
makes it easier for planning
meals when you can cook instead
of eating at the boardwalk. Alot
of my family members and friends
come down and stay. We usually
end up taking up any where from
3 - 9 rooms. Great for families
with small children, 1 block
from the beach and amusements |

“home

This is a great
place for families at the Jersey
shore.
Jun 24, 2010
This is a great
place to stay at the Jersey
shore. It's only one block from
the beach and is great for
families with kids. Our family
has been staying there every
year for many years. My
grandchildren love the huge pool
which is located right outside
the rooms. Pool is well
maintained and clean. The buffet
breakfast is great and there is
plenty of food...eating there
poolside is so convenient and
saves time in the morning when
the kids are anxious to get to
the beach. Some rooms have been
recently renovated. All in all,
a great place for families. |

Best Motel In
Point Pleasant Beach!
Jun 23, 2010
My family has
been going to the Amethyst Beach
Motel for the last 18 years. The
staff is like family. This motel
is very family friendly and
makes the kids happy to go. It
is clean and if there are any
problems they are right there to
help you. The kids are excited
to go every summer. They meet a
lot of new friends and have so
much fun. We love how it's right
next to the beach and the
boardwalk. Overall, this motel
is the "HOT SPOT" of Point
Pleasant Beach!!!

“Great
Family Oriented Atmosphere!!!
April 12, 2010
My kids and I have been going to this Motel for about 9 years now and we love it!! The kids love the pool, I love the service. It's clean and it's family owned. The family is terrific and very accomodating!!
We can walk to the boardwalk and have a great time. There is no late night partying allowed so you know you're going to get a good nights sleep. I would definitely recommend staying here!!!

“Super
Terrific -- Everything is
Perfect.”
April 11, 2010
We have been going to the AMETHYST MOTEL for about 5 years..
We go in July just me and my husband and we go again in August with our whole family and back again in September for the Seafood festival
Our rooms are always clean and comfortable and the service is wonderful It is a family owned business who are there all the time to make sure everyone is happy. They are always informative about all the local restaurants.
We enjoy the pool right outside your room and it is always very clean. We enjoy waking up in the morning to the fresh smell of coffee with bagels, muffins etc. very nice touch.
A new addition is the BBQ area where you can BBQ, sit and enjoy your diner. Nice touch so you don't have to eat out every night
When we come as a family they have a beautiful apartment with 2 bedrooms, kitchen living room and dining room. Great for the kids to play and not be confined to one room .
Great location a short distance to the beach , boardwalk and amusement park.
We highly recommend it to couples, families, singles etc.
We will keep coming back as long as they own it.

“A
traditional trip we'll grow old
with”
April 9, 2010
challenge you to find a
harder working or more helpful
staff than Theresa and her crew
at the Amethyst. There is ALWAYS
someone buzzing around...whether
it be cleaning the pool or the
rooms, jockeying vehicles for
optimum parking or setting up
the delicious continental
breakfast each day. The location
is only a quick walk to the
beach/boardwalk , train or
shopping . The rooms are very
clean and comfortable complete w
microwaves and
refrigerators,cable and some
offer flat screen T.V.s. There
are plenty of lounge chairs at
the pool and patio with a
barbecue for grilling. Honestly,
I really can't say a bad thing
about our experience here. We
skipped last year only because
we had a newborn , but we are
counting the days until our next
trip in August this year. |
Aug 2, 2009 | Trip type: Family
Thanks for a great stay, the staff was wonderful, friendly. My family enjoyed the heated pool which was very relaxing after a day at the beach. The continental breakfast was a nice touch instead of spending money for an expensive breakfast.. more

"A true gem in the Jersey Shore!”
Jul 19,
2009
July marked our second stay at
the Amethyst Beach Motel and we
couldn't have been more pleased.
After being disappointed at a
different hotel last year, we
decided to return to the
Amethyst, were we had first
stayed back in 2007. We enjoyed
everything from the attentive
staff to the more than
convenient location and pool
side leisure. The location being
a walking distance from the
beach and the board walk was a
breeze. Being a family of 5, we
were very well accommodated and
greatly enjoyed the family
friendly atmosphere. Being a
family run hotel gives it that
warm, at home kind of touch that
you can't feel with just any
given vacancy. While currently
planning out next trip down to
Point Pleasant Beach, we
couldn't think of a better place
to stay other than the Amethyst
Beach Motel.
Sincerely, John Zicca + Family |

“We
Loved It!!”
May 21,
2009
I rarely take the time to
write a review for a business
(good or bad). However, this
time I really feel that I
should. We have been traveling
down to the shore for quite some
time and the Amethyst motel has
to be the best place that my
wife and I have stayed. From
check in to check out the staff
was great. I could tell that
they really wanted to please us
and that made us feel good.
You can't beat the location. We
took the train down this time
and the motel was maybe a block
and half away. The boardwalk was
about the same distance. The
walking to the beach and back
was so easy. Once you get into
the rooms you can't beat the
high-def tv and the comfy beds.
I would recommend to anyone
traveling to Point Pleasant,
stay at the Amethyst Beach
Motel. We can't wait to go
back!!

“Beautiful
Stay at a Beautiful Place”
May 20,
2009
Recently stayed at the Amethyst
Beach Motel for a business trip.
The room was beautiful and even
had a flat-screen television
with digital cable. There was
also a fridge and a microwave in
the room for us to use. It was a
very clean room with a king
sized bed and plenty of towels
for the bathroom. Jenkinson's
Boardwalk was within walking
distance and downtown Point
Pleasant was just down the road.
It's a great location with a
friendly staff and a huge pool
for guests. I really enjoyed my
stay and would definitely stay
again! |

“Would
DEFINITELY stay again! :)”
June 18, 2008 LoriSNJ
I planned a family vacation, almost 3 weeks ago, before my
brother is to be stationed in Iraq. It was a first family
vacation in over 20 years and I wanted to make special for him,
as well as all four families happy. Theresa, the owner, was very
helpful advising me of everything the motel had to offer, as
well as local area things to do as this was our first trip to
Point Pleasant, (we usually go to LBI). She even waived the
cancellation policy. After reading many reviews on Trip Advisor,
which she told me to check out, I immediately booked with
Amethyst.
The grounds were very neat. Ample local parking. One lot
separates the motel from the Boardwalk and Beach which was a
great walk with kids. Continental breakfast was wonderful with
terrific coffee and fresh bagels. The pool was heated and a good
size. We all were traveling with children, and floating devises
were permitted in the pool. Staff even provided extra towels for
the pool.
The only problem we encountered was upon check in, one room
still had a previous guest inside. It was taken care of
immediately and staff gave us a "temporary" room in order to
accommodate us and ample time to clean the assigned room. In the
long run, we kept the "temporary" room which was bigger, at no
extra charge, due to the inconvenience and miscommunication with
the prior guest.
The cleaning staff was above and beyond! As I mentioned,
traveling with young children means a disorganized motel room.
Surprisingly, after a tired day at the beach, we returned to an
organized room: shoes, toys, snacks etc. all put in it's place.
(a nice treat for mom!)
We reserved a room with 2 full beds, which was a little small,
but this is an old Jersey Shore motel. The room was bright, and
clean, as well as the property. They even have a patio area with
grills should you choose to BBQ. I would definitely stay at this
facility again due to the friendliness, cleanliness, and
location to the beach & boardwalk, especially with two small
children.
Upon check-out, Theresa advised me of local events taking place
in Sept. that are "must-do's". Again, at off’ season prices (as
this trip was), however the ocean would be much warmer! I
believe we will "See you in Sept." Theresa! Thank you to the
staff of Amethyst for making an Airman's long overdue family
vacation a memorable one!

This place is a gem. After
checking out of a horrible motel
in seaside 24 hours after check
in, I drove over to PPB in hopes
of saving a vacation gone wrong.
I was greeted with smiles and
accommodated last minute with a
great room for me and my family.
Clean, warm and friendly, great
location and most of all a great
bang for your buck.

"We Love the Amethyst Beach
Motel"
Oct 31, 2007
This was
our 2nd stay at the Amethyst
this season. We had a "Girl's
Week" in August, then returned
for a "Family Weekend" away in
September. The September weekend
was wonderful. 4 Generations of
our Family came together at the
Amethyst to enjoy the Beach,
Boardwalk, Seafood Festival and
we all drove down to Seaside
Heights for the Clown Festival
for the same weekend. All these
events were within walking
distance from the motel (except
the ClownFest).
Theresa, John and their Motel
family made our family very
comfortable and our stay
enjoyable.
We will definitely return next
year! |

for one night as we had planned
a new york trip but having grown
up in new jersey and living in

i wanted to show her where i
spent my summers.
please realize this is not the

we enjoyed the amethyst just as
well..theresa and john (assume
the owners)were more than very
hospitable. our room opened to
the pool and we were very
fortunate to hit a unseasonably
warm weekend.the location is
great especaiily for kids .close
to the beach ,the amusement park
and the train station as we took
the train to n.y.city . the
breakfast was very good and
theresa worked very hard in
ensuring that.. when thersa
helped my daughter fix her hair
it made us feel we were with
family.

"Our 2 night stay."
Aug 20, 2007
We booked
our stay knowing how close the
walk was to the beach and the
amusements. I would highly
recommend the Amethyst Beach
Motel to any family with
children. The rooms are clean
and all seem to be poolside. The
staff is friendly and kind.
There is a parking lot behind
the motel that was safe and
secure. The beach is only a
block and a half to the beach
and amusement area. I wish we
had planned more than a two-day
stay. We will be back next
summer.

Great time at the Amethyst!"
Aug 13, 2007
We
just returned from our stay at
the Amethyst and I felt
compelled to share my thoughts
on our stay. Let me start by
saying we booked our reservation
before reading the other reviews
on this website, and if we would
have found this website first, I
don't know if we would have
decided to stay at the Amethyst
given some of the negative
comments I read here. I was a
little worried about what we
would find at the Amethyst
because of the mixed reviews,
but I was quite pleased with our
stay.
We arrived prior to the official
check-in time, yet our room was
ready for us. The friendly young
lady at the desk checked us in
and accomodated our split
payment for the room (cash &
credit card). She was more than
helpful in getting us beach
passes and acquainting us with
the services of the hotel. When
we went to our room, it was
bright and cheerful and clean to
our picky standards for hotels.
There was a slight damp smell
when we first walked into the
room, but it disappeared (and
did not return) as soon as we
got the air conditioner going.
The Amethyst has a very inviting
pool that was right outside our
door. The kids loved being able
to walk out the door right to
the pool, and my sister and I
appreciated all of the lounge
chairs and seating that was
available right outside our door
as we supervised our children.
The pool was large enough to
accomodate many guests at one
time, but it was not so large
that the kids had an opportunity
to wander out of sight.
The Amethyst appears to be an
older hotel, but it is very well
maintained. There were a lot of
staff members about their
business, and they accomodated
our requests for more towels and
pillows. Oddly enough, inside
the room there was only one
visible electric outlet and it
was up near the drop ceiling
(there were outlets in the
bathroom area). Since we needed
an outlet for some necessary
medical equipment, the friendly
office staff helped us get an
extention cord so it could be
plugged in. It was an odd
request that they were able to
accomodate immediatley.
We had an opportunity to speak
with several guests who shared
that they have been going to the
Amethyst for decades and will
return again. I believe we will
be joining the list of other
satisfied guests who have become
loyal customers of the Amethyst. |

Point Pleasant Beach:
Amethyst Beach Motel:
"Friendly and Clean! we will be
back!"
New York
Aug 8, 2007
Having stayed here 3 years ago,
I chose to stay again, this time
with my two children, and my
sister and her children. We had
adjoining rooms on the second
level overlooking the pool in
the courtyard.
The rooms were freshly painted,
NO HOTEL SMELL!!! It was very
clean. A priority for me. The
air conditioners were new. Room
131 is very spacious, the
adjoining room 132 is a little
tighter on space, but also very
clean. Breakfast was assorted
full size bagels, toasters
provided, cream cheese and
butter. Also muffins, all
fresh..Bring your own milk if
you do not like powdered
creamer..No dairy products were
provided for the coffee.
THe only thing that did not work
was the oven in room 132. It was
low priority for us...I probably
should have said something but
did not.
We were able to leave our pool
toys in the pool, many families
there did bring toys and
everyone shared, nothing was
missing on the last day when we
packed up. The atmosphere is
relaxed and pleasant, I only
wished there were some living
plants in the courtyard. It is
also clean, but no greenery
whatsoever. My 8 yr old made me
promise we would be back next
summer and we will. (2 minute
walk to beach and Jenkinsons
boardwalk)

Loved the
amethyst beach motel. It's very
close to the beach and
restaurants. Theresa was very
accommodating. She upgraded our
room to an apt. because there
were four of us. I had my
bachelorette here last year in
July so because we liked it so
much, we decided to have a
reunion with less girls. |

Theresa
was very helpful and made our
stay terrific despite tenuous
weather. Her customer service
was really great since it was so
tough to organize a weekend get
together. Everyone's schedules
are too different to organize a
week. For a motel, the
accommodations were great -
clean, staff were very helpful,
and Theresa certainly went out
of her way. When guests are
treated this way - we can't help
but to come back again. |

This is a
great place. a very short walk
to the beach/boardwalk. The
staff is extremely friendly and
helpful. The rooms were clean
and comfortable. The pool is
really clean and is open late.
Continental breakfast is served
poolside every morning. Plenty
of lounge chairs too. My son and
i stayed here for a week and
honestly, weren't really
expecting much, having stayed at
other motels down the shore.
It’s just far enough back from
the boardwalk to avoid all the
noise. we were pleasantly
surprised. We would absolutely
stay here again. |

This is a
very nice hotel. Although not on
the ocean, you can see the
boardwalk from your room. The
staff is very helpful and
attentive. The rooms are clean,
good-sized, and well-maintained.
Our room had an HDTV, which was
a definite bonus! The hotel also
has a nice-sized pool in the
center courtyard, if you chose
to just hang out at the hotel
for the day. The daily
continental breakfast was also a
plus. I have stayed at this
hotel a number of times before,
and recommend it to family and
friends whenever asked about a
nice reasonably-priced place to
stay at the shore.

Stayed at the Beach Motel after
our Christmas party. Even though
we made our reservation on line
through their website for an
economy room with standard check
out time, the front desk person
gave us a late checkout the
following day which was great
because we had an opportunity to
do some christmas shopping in

upgraded us to a room with

been willing to pay extra for.
Look forward to staying there

Amethyst was great, the price
was right the location was close

distance from town. After being
disappointed at our original
choice of a motel in Point, we
were very pleased with the room
and the service.
coffee and bagels in the morning
kept me happy but my boyfriend
was all to happy having found
that they had recently placed a
high definition flat screen with
unlimited channels in our room.
It was all I could do to pry him
away for a walk on the board
walk. Thanks we will return and
recommend this place to our

My
friends and I stayed at the
Amethyst for a Mom's weekend
away! We were disappointed with
the weather, but Theresa, the
owner, went out of her way to
help make our stay more
enjoyable! She was friendly,
courteous, and very helpful to
us. She made helpful suggestions
to us on how to spend our rainy
day! despite the weather, we
enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are
in the process of being updated
in the off season, honestly they
need it, but the Motel is aware
of this and is working towards
improvements in the Decor and
amenities! The location is great
and the clientele is very family
oriented, not a bit of trouble
with loud or unruly guests!
would definitely go back!

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "Good Place to
Stay"
Aug 20, 2006: New York
We
just returned from a two night
stay. Overall, this was not a
bad place. Our room was clean
and the staff was friendly. We
had a view of the boardwalk from
our room. The heated pool was
good for a swim after the beach.
There were plenty of chairs
around the pool. The location
was very convenient. It was
about a 1.5-2 block walk to the
beach/boardwalk. They did charge
us $10 per day to park but if
you stay somewhere that you have
to drive to the beach, you will
end up paying more. The
continental breakfast in the
morning was very nice to have.
There were plenty of bagels,
donuts, muffins, coffee/tea and
juice. This made it easy since
we didn't have to go out looking
for a place to eat in the
morning. There was some
confusion before I left
regarding our stay, number of
days and arrival but they went
out of their way to make it
right. Unfortunately, my son got
an ear infection during our stay
and we ended up cutting it short
by one day and they were very
understanding. Next time I would
just confirm my reservation a
few days before I leave. When we
pulled up to the motel (and it
is a motel, not hotel), I saw
two women leaving and I asked
them how it was and they said
they have been going there for
18 years. I think that says alot
about a place. We will
definitely visit Point Pleasant
again and we will stay at the
Amethyst

Dear Folks,
Firstly, let me say that I did
indeed write a review a few days
ago and do not see it in your
many scores of other reviews so
I'm trying it AGAIN.
Secondly, let me say that in the
10 yrs + that I've been staying
at The Amethyst; from when I was
single and in my early 30's
coming to The Amethyst with my
galpals to the last 3 years
since I've been married and have
taken my husband and our 4 yr
old son it has always been a
BLAST! :-) The Amethyst has and
always will be the best lodgings
in Pt. Pleasant hands down! You
can't beat the staff who are
always on call for everything
and anything -- they are truly
the BEST and demonstrate such
every single year. Professional
but totally down to earth!
I am returning to The Amethyst
on August 21, 2006 and shall
send my review of same
thereafter, which I know will be
yet another successful outing
for me and my family. Until
then! Quite Satisfied in
Sunnyside, NYC Yvette

Face
it....when you pick a
motel/hotel over the internet
for a location you've never been
to...it's a crapshoot. Imagine
my surprise when we got to the
Amethyst in Point Pleasant! What
a great location! What a great
little place (make your
reservations early!). It is appr
2 blks from the boardwalk (my 7
& 9 year olds were in heaven)
and the ocean! The entire 2 blk
walk consists of parking for the
boardwalk/ocean that other
people had to pay for!
Very efficient rooms (microwave
and small fridge...perfect!).
GREAT pool (clean!) and patio
area...people sitting by the
patio conversing while the kids
swam. Continental breakfast on
the patio (very Important: every
so often more chocolate donuts
would appear....this is key!)
Half a mile from a grocery store
and a liquor store is 2 blks
further (very nice selection!).
Buy sandwich fixings for your
beach outing (boardwalk can be
pricey). The fridge holds quite
a bit.
Boardwalk has something for
everyone....food, arcade,
carnival rides, shopping, etc..
This motel gears you towards
getting out and having fun. This
is not the Hyatt, people...think
turquoise, sand, beach towels
hanging over a railing in
anticipation of the next day's
adventure....etc.
Loved it!!! |

more pleased with this hotel. My
fondest memories of my childhood
were vacations at the beach, and
now my child can have the same

nice, the facilities were great,
but the most impressive part of
the week was the staff. This
really is a family oriented

We
have just returned from our

amethyst motel at point pleasant
and we had a really nice time.
We went with four kids and they
really loved it. We had rooms
downstairs near the pool and
patio area and the kids felt
free to come and go in and out
of the rooms and back in the
pool . The fridge and microwave
came in handy. we had connecting
rooms with my sister and her
family and our parents came too.
the motel is very well run and
the staff is super friendly and
accommodating. every morning we
had fun eating the free
continental breakfast of donuts
and bagels. The coffee pot was
on all day long. the best part
was the short walk to the
boardwalk and beach. I will
recommend this motel for anyone
especially with kids.

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "Wonderful
experience!!!!!!!"
July
9, 2006: princesschristypa@lycos.com,
Walnutport, PA
Our
experience at the Amethyst Beach
Motel was well worth the rate
charged. We enjoyed the large
rooms and the clean, newly
remodeled tiled showers. We
enjoyed clean crisp sheets upon
our arrival and our rooms were
cleaned daily. Fresh bathroom
linen was received daily. We did
need a washcloth one day, but
they quickly retrieved one for
us when we asked, hastle free.
The pool and patio area was
large enough to accommodate all
of the guests, and still have
room to spare. The pool and
patio were also very clean. They
were also very prompt at wiping
the rain water off the tables.
Our son Kyle, enjoyed the pool
for hours daily!
The continental breakfast
exceeded our expectations with
fresh bagels, pastries and
coffee. When the weather was
poor, they opened up the newly
remodeled dining/social area for
us to enjoy our breakfast.
The walk to the beach is about
1.5-2 blocks but this is one of
the closest motels to the
boardwalk and major attracations.
They do also offer a shuttle to
the boardwalk.
The owners were very friendly,
kind, courteous, and
understanding of our needs. We
would highly recommend this
motel for a quality point
pleasant experience.
Kyle says....
I loved the pool and the whole
place!! I hope I get to go there
again next year!!!

Jun 2, 2006:
Westchester County, NYMy
husband and I decided to get
away for the long Memorial Day
weekend and picked Point
Pleasant and the Amethysts
Motel. It was our first trip to
the Jersey shore and we enjoyed
our stay so much we extended it
an extra day.
The Amethysts Motel was exactly
what we needed - it was safe,
clean and in a prime location to
the beach and entertainment. We
had a great 2nd floor room with
all the basic needs including
(to our surprise) a microwave
and small refrigerator. We
viewed the long wait to find
parking for others not staying
at the motel and felt lucky that
the Amethysts was centrally
located and we could walk to
everything instead of spending
time looking for parking. We
even left the beach, went back
to the motel for a while and
then walked back to the beach
later. It was a pleasure to not
have to worry about moving the
car.
Theresa and her staff were all
top notch even on the very
crowded and hectic weekend.
Every morning we were treated to
fresh coffee, bagels and donuts
– even on our last day there
when the motel was near empty
-the goodies were served like
clockwork.
We decided to make Point
Pleasant Beach and The Amethysts
Motel a yearly Memorial Day
tradition and return again next
year

It's a block from the Beach and
the Board Walk with the
Amusements. The Motel is always
clean and the people are always
friendly. This is my 12th summer
going to the same motel. If's
it's a little chilly, they have
a heated in the ground pool that
the kids love to swim in. Most
of the rooms have 2 double beds
and a Microwave and mini
Refrigerator in them. We always
stayed in one of these rooms.
Now we stay in a room that has a
small efficiency in it.
The boys (17, 15, 7) love coming
to this motel. It's close enough
that the older boys can come and
go with no trouble at all.

I’ve stayed there on several

notch. The rooms are clean,
spacious and fully accessible to
anyone, even those with special
needs. I’m looking forward to a
much need vacation this summer

patience and her willingness to
help me find the right vacation

surely recommend the Amethyst

Had a great time down the

On our prior visit to Point

motel on Broadway never
realizing that the Amethyst
was right down the street
from Jenkinsons and just a
couple blocks from town. It
is a clean well run motel.
Across the street is a cute

played. The Easter egg hunt
up at Jenks was all the kids
could talk about on the ride
down, but after seeing the
pool in the center of the
motel outside our room they
are now concentrating on

Point Pleasant
Beach: Amethyst Beach Motel:
"Everyone Loved it!"
Nov 28, 2005: My entire
family, friends, and even
co-workers all stayed at the
Beach Motel the weekend of
October 2, 2005 to celebrate my
wedding. We must have had rented
about 30 rooms total. Not one
person had a complaint. We
started booking rooms during
their high season, the summer of
2005.Even though they were
swamped, they always made time
to help us, and were friendly.
When the time came, and we
arrived, there were no mistakes
(amazingly) and everything went
smoothly. And we were high
maintenance. The staff even
helped unload the car. They
happily helped with extra's such
as giving out gift bags. We
brought some extra food to add
to their continental breakfast
(which was perfectly
satisfactory all on its own).
They stored everything for us,
and laid out their regular
breakfast, as well as all out
extras each morning, always with
a smile. And we were messy, too.
Some of us even ended up in
their very clean heated pool,
which was still open.
As the bride, Theresa up-graded
my room to a 2nd floor suite. It
was lovely. It was clean,
bright, cheerful, and had plenty
of room for all the people that
were in and out, as that room
became everybody's home base.
The other rooms were great, as
well. I know because I was in
almost all of them at one point
or another. Every guest said
they would and will stay there
again. I know that my husband
and I certainly will.
I have been going to the Jersey
shore for 32 years, and this
motel is far superior to any of
the motels I have stayed in.
Keep in mind, these are Motels,
not Hotels. If you're looking
for amenities that you'll find
at the Ritz, maybe you should go
to the islands. The Amethyst
Beach Motel has everything a
Jersey girl (or couple, family,
etc.) needs and more!
I can't thank them enough for
making my wedding weekend
perfect! They covered every
detail.

"Good For The Money"
August 21, 2005: New York ,
I just returned from the Amethyst after a
three night stay with my husband and three small
children. The room cost $149 a night for five of
us and this included a continental breakfast
which included donuts, bagels and beverages,
perfect for the kids. The room was clean. I
found the staff friendly. My kids loved the pool
which was open in the evening and perfect for a
swim after walking on the boardwalk. The hotel
is close to the beach, about three blocks which
is a short distance. I truly have nothing
negative to say. It wasn't the Ritz, however, it
was fine for the price. I would consider
returning in the future. It is a good place to
stay if you have small children.

We are a family of three and found the Amethyst rooms immaculate as
well as the patio and pool. Although the weather wasn’t the greatest
management had the pool almost as warm as a hot tub and their main lobby
area set up for rainy day movies on a plasma screen with full theatre
sound. If that wasn’t enough they also provide us with free internet

experience which we will return for again. We took some pictures which

not appropriate for children. We heard about the
Amethyst from a friend of mine. So we called
them and with luck they had space for us. The
place is clean. The staff goes out of their way
to meet your needs. The pool is great. (not to
big but big enough) and the boardwalk was a
block away. If you have small children this is
the place to stay. My two kids enjoyed every
second of our trip. There is also continental
breakfast served every morning.
(coffee, juice, bagels and donuts) I
would highly recommend this place for a family
getaway.

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"Very pleased! What an awesome
surprise!"
June 27, 2005: Bergen County, NJ.
This was our first time at the
Amethyst--I stayed there from June 22nd through
June 25th with my 11 yo daughter. When I booked
our room back in February, I'd seen some pretty
poor reviews here, BUT, I've found repeatedly
that perfectly wonderful hotels sometimes get a
bad rap on Trip Advisor for no other reason than
that some people are just whiney perfectionists
with an axe to grind.
This is now the THIRD hotel I've stayed at that
received less than stellar reviews on Trip
Advisor and turned out to be outstanding!
Our room was newly painted in a cheerful yellow,
clean, and completely devoid of mold or mildew
(I'm severely allergic to mold and I would've
known if there was a problem.) The A/C worked
incredibly well, the TV was fine, and the shower
was fantastic--no shortage of hot water and
plenty of water power.
The heated pool was a pleasant surprise--very
well kept, spotless, and a nice comfortable
temperature (while the ocean was freezing, the
pool was just right and even on less than hot
days, we could still swim in comfort.)
Continental breakfast was ok. Granted the bagels
tasted better when toasted (several toasters
were available!), but other than that, it was a
good bargain and included OJ, apple juice, and
plenty of coffee. Later in the day, after
breakfast, they served delicious iced coffee in
the patio.
The people running the Amethyst went out of
their way to be helpful and polite. Every single
person we came in contact with was completely
professional and a pleasure to deal with.
The location of the motel was perfect. All one
had to do was walk at most 2 blocks to get to
the main part of Jenkinson's boardwalk, and yet
it was very quiet at the motel itself. Our room
looked out onto a little lake/pond with geese
and swans--a very pretty view.
I've stayed at other motels in PPB. I will
never consider going anywhere other than the
Amethyst again.

Amethyst Beach Motel:
"We'll be back!"
June 8, 2005:
We recently kicked off the summer
with a stay at the Amethyst Beach Hotel, and
what a way to start! We've stayed there to
begin the summer for the last few years and
each year gets better and better. The hotel
looks great, our rooms were clean and
updated, brightly painted and well
maintained. This was the first year we had a
unit with a kitchen in it and everything was
working well and very clean. The pool is the
best part and it's centrally located - the
swimmers loved it!! The staff, as always,
was attentive and friendly. We'll definitely
be back! Keep up the good work!

Point Pleasant Beach:
Amethyst Beach Motel:
"Our Annual NJ
Vacation Motel is ONLY at Amethysts!"
June 4, 2005: I tell people about
this motel all the time, yet I can never
seem to do it justice! When I call to
reserve our room, I just tell them where I'm
coming from and what weekend and I am
greeted by name! They even know the exact
room I prefer and, as the case one year,
shifted their reservations around to get us
in that room (consider that this involved
people arriving/checking out on different
days, number in their party, etc). Everyone
is made to feel that special and that
welcomed by Theresa, John, their family and
staff. The rooms have always been clean. The
pool in perfect condition. They make sure
all guests, first timers or chronic
repeaters (like us) are happy. Since my
husband is bored by beach/boardwalk (yes, I
do think something is wrong with him), every
year I bring a different friend who brings a
child and a child's friend and our son
brings a different friend. We want to share
the experience with as many friends as
possible. One year we had too many for the
beds and in a matter of minutes there was an
extra cot in our room, no questions asked.
We arrive early a.m. every year before
checkin time and, after driving four hours,
they either have our room ready in advance
knowing we will be early or will give us
keys to another room so we can change and
dive into the pool! Our friends have all
been impressed. Last years friend BEGGED to
come again this year! She has also been
telling pending-vactioners to the Jersey
Shore about Amethyst's! Our son is so
comfortable there that he takes our
continental breakfast orders the first night
there and, when we wake up each morning, he
already has our "requests" in the room
waiting for us and he is in the pool! They
have never questioned him carrying all this
food. He wants everyone to enjoy themselves
as much as he does every year and so does
Amethyst's! Last year we decided on our
annual vacation that we wanted to return two
weeks later for a shorter vacation, during
peak no-vacancy season. They made it happen!
Ahhh....two months to go and we'll be back
there for the 6th (or is it 7th?) year in a
row and continuing..

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "BEST MOTEL IN POINT PLEASANT
BEACH, NJ.."
June 1, 2005: My family and I have been
going to the Amethyst Beach Motel for 3 years,
this coming July is our 4th year. I would never
stay anywhere else!! This motel caters to
families, there is a beautiful courtyard where I
know my children are safe. The staff has been
very kind and the management has worked with me
as far as paying my vacation off when I fell on
hard times. I know every year I can go to the
Amethyst, without one worry. We are in walking
distance to the boardwalk and the beach. The
past 3 years, the same people have been coming
and my 10 year old daughter has made several
friends who look forward to seeing each other
every July. This is the place to stay in Point
Pleasant Beach!!! I can't wait until July!!

Beach Motel: "Always good at the Amethyst"
May 28, 2005: We go down every year
for the PLJ Summer Kick Off and tried other
hotels but now we stay always at the Amethyst.
The rooms are clean and newly painted. The
location is convenient to the beach and
boardwalk-the staff is friendly and helpful. The
continental breakfast is a nice touch. I would
definitely recommend this hotel to anyone
visiting Point Pleasant and we'll be back!

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"BEST VALUE IN POINT PLEASANT
BEACH! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"
May 25, 2005: Tried to make
reservations to go to Pt. Pleasant Beach for the
weekend and was confused by the difference in
pricing among the hotels I called. We decided to
take a chance and go down without a reservation
so that we could see first hand why some hotels
were charging so much less than others. We
really didn't want to spend a lot of money on a
hotel room since we were only there for one
night so we started at the least expensive
motels on Broadway which are located so far from
the main boardwalk you have to drive there and
pay for parking. Ultimately we worked ourselves
up close to the main boardwalk and found the
Amethyst Beach Motel which is where we
ultimately stayed. Yes we paid a higher price
than what we would have at many of the other
motels but Amethyst was nicely maintained and
once we parked we could walk to the main beach
and boardwalk as well as town shopping. We now
understand the difference in pricing among other
motels and hotels and have come to learn that
the old saying you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR is true.
We too share the many positive comments made with regard to this hotel and will
be returning.

"Great Time- our Jersey Shore
vacation spot"
May 15, 2005: Stayed at the
Amethyst Beach Motel for a wedding in Pt.
Pleasant beach.
We really enjoyed our stay and would have stayed
longer if the weather had been better. The staff
was wonderful and very attentive. They are right
across from a park and lake and we can see the
swans swimming around from our room which we
loved. The rooms were bright colored and clean.
We all had a great time. Would recommend anyone
to try this facility

Beach Motel:
"Great Stay"
April 23, 2005: Visited Pt. Pleasant
Beach this weekend for my birthday with friends
and
stayed at the Amethyst Beach Motel. Great
location to Jenkinsons and
Martells. Their pool was not open but should be
by this weekend as they were
working it when we arrived. Their staff was
working very hard at renovating
their rooms and we had an opportunity to stay in
one of them. The rooms have
been freshly painted and are cheerfully colorful
with much attention to
cleanliness. Their staff was really terrific,
the location great and we
really enjoyed the continental breakfast. Can’t
wait to go back in June.

"A+ for the Amethyst!"
April 20, 2005: Great stay, great
weekend Amethyst is definitely the place to
stay. Once we parked our car we never needed it
again until we checked out late Sunday. The room
we stayed in was newly renovated work was
ongoing on the other sections. The location is
the best as it is a short walk to the central
boardwalk and three blocks from downtown Pt
Pleasant Beach. We had a package which with a
late checkout on Sunday and included continental
breakfast. The staff where great and we will be
coming back, we recommend it highly

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "It's Become a Summer Kick-Off
Tradition"
March 30, 2005: My family began
vacationing at the Amethyst 5 years ago this
summer and we plan to keep on going back. We
pick the children up on their last day of school
and keep on driving 'til we hit the shore! We
meet up with friends there and formally kick-off
our summer vacations. The convenience of the
Amethyst to the beach and boardwalk is perfect.
It's also a convenient walk to town. We like to
get the poolside rooms so that the kids can
enjoy the water and we can enjoy the close
proximity. It's always easy to have an adult on
hand to keep an eye on them without making a
huge effort. The staff is friendly and
efficient; never a problem there. The rooms are
clean and the grounds are well kept. I saw some
of the other reviews and I can't believe they
stayed at the same place! Four years and
counting and we never experienced any problems.
This is a very comfortable Jersey shore
accommodation at a very reasonable price. Get our
room ready, Teresa, we'll be there soon

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"Always have a great time"
March 24, 2005:
This June
will make my
family's 5th
annual trip
to the
Amethyst. We
started
going there
with one
other family
and we have
grown into a
group of 5
families
going there
this year.
We always
have a great
time mostly
due to the
perfect
accommodations.
The rooms
are typical
Jersey Shore
rooms
(small) but
who cares
when we have
the swimming
pool right
outside our
door. Our
children
practically
sleep in
their
bathing
suits so
they can
jump into
the pool as
soon as they
wake up. And
the parents
love the
convenience
of the
continental
breakfast,
we eat
poolside
while the
kids play
and swim.
The staff is
accommodating
and the
office
always
remembers us
and greets
us by name.
Its not the
Hilton, but
we wouldn't
be able to
enjoy
ourselves in
this manner
at the
Hilton. I
always
recommend
the Amethyst
to anyone
who is
visiting Pt.
Pleasant.
PS: Its
always clean
and neat
when I am
there. I
have seen
staff
members
working at
7AM and at
midnight, so
they make
the effort
to maintain
the site.
Thanks
Theresa!

March 20,
2005: We
were extremely
satisfied and
have made
reservations for
a pool side room
this summer and
look forward to
our vacation
their!
Recently visited
pt. Pleasant

where to stay
for our family
summer vacation
this year.
Having read
postings on this
site I decided
to visit the
hotels prior to
making our
reservations and
have decided to
stay at the
Amethyst Beach
Motel. The
location is
great as is
their patio and
pool area. They
were in the
process of
getting ready
for the season
with work being
done in the
rooms; however
we were able to
see some rooms
so we could
decide exactly
what
accommodations
would suit us
best and check
the facility out
for ourselves.

March 19, 2005: Looking forward to
returning to our favorite spot. Have vacationed
at the Amethyst Beach Motel for years now and

all try to coordinate our vacations so we can
meet there again. They are close to the beach
and rides and we love their pool and patio.

"15 years of GREAT reviews..."
March 16, 2005:
lilflirt523@aol.com
Me and my family have been staying at the
Amethyst Beach Motel for 15 years now, every
summer for at least a week at a time. The staff
is wonderful, and so is the location. They
recently renovated the motel, two years ago with
new patio sets, a beautiful restaurant, etc.,
and as for the high prices, speak to the
governor of New Jersey he is the reason the
prices are higher. And as per the conditions of
the rooms the staff can only do so much, when
you have people who stay there that treat it
poorly, the results are damaging. We all have
such a good time there, and cant wait to go back
this summer, So John, Theresa, and staff keep up
the good work, and see you in August!

"Warm & Friendly"
March 11, 2005: This is a great place to
stay, real close to beach and boardwalk. When
visiting with my family each of the last two
summers we stayed at the Amethyst.
My kids love the park and concert shell
especially the fireworks on Thursday nights,
lots of families. The patio is real nice with
barbeques and light breakfast served there.
We are looking forward to returning this summer

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"Very relaxing"
September 27, 2004: I had the pleasure
of staying this last weekend and have never been
to Point Pleasant before. It was really nice.
The hotel was nice too. I loved the breakfast
they offered and the staff was very nice and
accommodating. They even allowed us to
re-arrange patio chairs around our room so that
we could sunbath until the last possible second.
And the other guests were really nice and
friendly. I found the rooms to be clean and the
pool and patio area was excellent. I did wish
the pool was a little more warmer because I love
to swim especially if the pool is kept above
85'. (my personal preference). I had no problem
parking even though we had two cars for our
stay. They allowed us to check out by 6pm on a
Sunday....which was fantastic! And on top of
everything else...short walk to the beach and
boardwalk and there is pond right next door with
ducks and fish. The park is nice and it made the
whole weekend very enjoyable and most
importantly relaxing.....which I really needed
since I have a stressful busy life! So thank you
and I hope to return soon!

"enjoyed our vacation"
August 30, 2004: My son and I had the
opportunity to stay at the Amethyst in August
2004. We only intended on staying 2 days but
ended up staying for 5. The staff at the

extended stay. The location is wonderful, staff
was very helpful. We spent very little time in
our room, so the accommodations were
satisfactory

"The AMETHYST is for one and all .
. ."
July 9, 2004: My friends and I always
stay at The Amethyst when we visit the Jersey
Shore--this will be "summer #8." The staff at
the Amethyst are always friendly and courteous
and they adapt to families, couples or singles
without a problem. We have our privacy and no
one bothers us or complains. The rooms, pool and
grounds are always neat and clean. If you need
anything, all you have to do is ask. It's a
short walk to the boardwalk, beach and the Tiki
Bar, who could ask for more. We wouldn't stay
anywhere else for we are comfortable here, and
the Amethyst really feels like our "home away
from home."

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"Vacation for the whole family"
July 1, 2004: I travel a lot all over
the world and always stay in luxury hotels. I
have PhD in Pediatrics and enjoy working with
kids and provide a safe/healthy environment for
them. I have to go to New York once a year to
attend a meeting at the UN. One year I decided
to go visit the Jersey Shore. I was surprised
that there are no big chain hotels there, but I
was very satisfied with staying at the Amethyst
Beach Motel the staff was polite and helpful.
The pool patio area is wonderful especially when
have kids. The front patio is sunny and gives
you a feel of summer and of the area. The Motel
is close enough to the beach so you can walk but
at the same time away from the beach/board walk
noise which is perfect for a woman my age. I
kept coming back every year to enjoy the beach
and kept bringing my grandkids with me.

"We Love Amethyst's!!!"
June 30, 2004: My daughter and I have
stayed at Amethyst's for the last 4 years. We
have always been pleased with our room. We were
so happy to be so close to the amusement area of
the boardwalk (great with the little ones) The
microwave and the refrigerator helped us budget,
and hot coffee by the pool every morning didn't
hurt either. I was happy to meet other families
that also returned each year. We wouldn't stay
anywhere else in PPB

"A place we keep going back to"
June 30, 2004: The Amethyst is a hotel

it! The rooms were quite adequate, an overall
'family' environment, lots of flexibility and an
attentive and friendly staff.

"Amethyst Beach Motel"
June 30, 2004: Just back from a
beautiful week at the Jersey shore with my
family. We stayed at the Amethyst in Point
Pleasant Beach. I have to say the room was great
the staff polite and the location was key being
that close to the boardwalk. You know how busy
the beach is and it was great to have the hotel
right there for a dip in the clean pool. I have
read some of the bum posts here and can honestly
say our experience was nothing like that. My
kids enjoyed the pool. I enjoyed not having to
worry about parking. Restaurants and stores were
a short walk.

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel: "Best motel in Point Pleasant
area!"
June 30, 2004: My family and I travel to
the Jersey Shore often... Honestly, we had a
wonderful time at the Amethyst Beach Motel in
Point Pleasant Beach NJ. It is actually one of
the best motels I have ever stayed in throughout
my travel experience to the shore!! The staff
was polite and helpful, the location was the
best, the pool patio area was a wonderful
surprise as it allowed us to sit with our kids
by the pool while being close to our rooms. In
addition, the beach was just a short walk from
our room (less then 5 minutes), we could
conveniently leave the car and easily walk to
either the boardwalk or the shopping area.
We have read the negative review posted on this
site and we strongly disagree!! We never saw or
experienced anything remotely like what has been
characterized by these reviews. If you're
looking for a great place to stay during your
vacation with wonderful service and a secure
environment, my family and I highly recommend
this place...

Point Pleasant Beach: Amethyst
Beach Motel:
"Have stayed there For 4 Year's"
June 30, 2004: 4 Summers ago we stayed
at the Amethyst for 2 Weeks, we are a family of
5 and had the Greatest Vacation. Our room was
cleaned everyday and fresh towels were always
available if we needed more. Barbeque grills for
us to use instead of going out or using the
stove in our room. Every morning coffee, juice,
fresh bagels and donuts No cooking in the
morning. The employees were always polite and
courteous and helpful with ordering take-in food
and or directions, one of the girls at the front
desk went so far as to call her mom for
directions for us! After our great experience
that summer we have been reserving the Amethyst
(the whole motel) for Basketball tournament
weekends 3 years in a row in June ( 2 weekends
in of June 2004) and when we fill the place the
staff gets rooms for our other families in other
local motels and ever family has been so pleased
with their rooms the heated pool and how clean
the keep the whole place was kept. The location
to the Boardwalk is wonderful too. Thanks To
Amethyst Owners and it's Staff for making so may
of our Basketball families comfortable during
their stay

"Amethyst Beach Motel"
May 2, 2004: Amethyst Beach Motel is
conveniently located overlooking the Board Walk
Amusement area in Point Pleasant Beach. Directly
across is a lovely park and Bands Shell which
hosts weekly concerts followed by fireworks on
the Beach. The staff was friendly and
accommodating as were the rooms. The central
location of the Amethyst allowed us to walk to
the local shopping district as well as beach
access. I would recommend the Amethyst Beach
Resort and Point Pleasant Beach NJ to anyone
looking for a clean upscale place to enjoy the
Jersey Shore
